Hemmer Alimentos is a Brazilian company based in Blumenau, Santa Catarina, which produces and sells various canned foods. In 1915, the entrepreneur Heinrich Hemmer began to elaborate and commercialize the sauerkraut (sauerkraut). The raw material was the cabbage, cultivated by it and the transport of the city made in wagon. The Hemmer Company was born, one of the oldest industries in Brazil in the canned food business, now managed by the fifth generation of the founder and denominated Hemmer Alimentos.
